Join us as we welcome San Francisco's David Harness and the celebration of Jessica Poche's birthday at Lot 8: A brand new outdoor venue in the heart of Mission Valley! Harness will perform Saturday Aug 12 at the Soulonbeat / I'll House You BBQ event, along DJ’s Cris Herrera, Joe Pea, Oscar P, Boys Don't Disco, & Gooseman.
David Harness is one of the most popular DJ/producers in the San Francisco Bay Area club scene. He has been described as ‘a man who lives, breathes and emanates everything that is beautiful about deep house music and classic garage.’ David is considered a ‘rising star’ within the dance community.’
With influences varying from Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Quincy Jones, the Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Parliament Funkadelic, the Isley Brothers and First Choice, among others it's easy to see why funk and soul have always been strong elements in his sound.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Give A Beat in conjunction with International Youth Day to raise funds for their music and mentor programs that aim to disrupt the school to prison pipeline and fight recidivism. Since 2014, Give a Beat has served as a catalyst for social change by bridging the dance music community with youth and families impacted by mass incarceration.
August 12th is the UN declared International Youth Day. On this date each year, the UN recognizes efforts of the world’s youth in enhancing global society and also promotes ways to engage youth to get more involved in making positive contributions to their communities.
