Grammy Award Winner Maurice Joshua is known across the globe as a brilliant producer, remixer and DJ. In the years since he first burst upon the club scene in 1988 with the now classic club anthem "This Is Acid". Maurice has earned an extremely high degree of respect from his contemporaries. In fact, in the grand scheme of house music, he is revered as one of the world’s best Producer/Remixer/DJs, as well as one of the original architects of the sound that now dominates dance floors all over the world. With such experience and talent, it’s no wonder that Maurice won a Grammy Award for his remix of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" in 2004. In 2011 Maurice is a busy as ever with song after song of pure hot-ness on his new venture Maurice Joshua Digital.
Congrats on the new songs with Andrea Love and Terrisa Griffin. Tell us about these projects.
"Come Together" was supposed to be the first single but when we wrote "More Love" it just seem right! The Terisa Griffin record is a production on her album and we thought that would be a great single for MJD.
Radio seems to love your vocal productions and remixes. What is your approach to recording songs in the studio?
My approach to making a record is to make a song timeless - meaning not to have all the new hip saying at the time. I like to take my production soulful since that's my passion and each song I do I go in a different direction.
What kind of gear do you use?
Since 2004 I've been all digital! LOGIC PRO 9 is my weapon on choice!! and a tons of soft synths!! LOL
